چکیده
Despite the current increase in studies on diet of neotropical anurans, few them take a comparative approach between syntopic species. The objective this study was to compare four species genus Physalaemus. collections occurred November 2014 and January 2016 preserved area subtropical Atlantic Forest southern Brazil. We compared gastrointestinal content 109 individuals distributed Physalaemus biligonigerus, P. cuvieri, gracilis henselii. measured Index Relative Importance each prey category calculated trophic niche breadth using Levins’ index (Bsta) overlap Pianka’s (Ojk). also applied compositional analysis evaluate feeding specializations. Formicidae most important for biligonigerus (IRI = 88.5%) 39.1%). For henselii Isopoda 51.7% 57.9%, respectively), followed by 34.9% 24.8%). (IIR 28.6%), Araneae 22.6%). narrow, all smaller than 0.32, lowest recorded (0.04). higher cuvieri (96%), (95%). Only presented significant level specialization. differences their diets suggest different uses resources, which could relate ways exploring microhabitat.

Chromosomal analysis of Physalaemus kroyeri and Physalaemus cicada (Anura, Leptodactylidae)
All the species of Physalaemus Fitzinger, 1826 karyotyped up until now have been classified as 2n = 22. The species of the Physalaemus cuvieri group analyzed by C-banding present a block of heterochromatin in the interstitial region of the short arm of pair 5. Physalaemus cicada Bokermann, 1966 has been considered to be a member of the Physalaemus cuvieri species group, although its interspecif...

Recently, Physalaemus albifrons (Spix, 1824) was relocated from the Physalaemus cuvieri group to the same group as Physalaemus biligonigerus (Cope, 1861), Physalaemus marmoratus (Reinhardt & Lütken, 1862) and Physalaemus santafecinus Barrio, 1965. To contribute to the analysis of this proposition, we studied the karyotypes of Physalaemus albifrons, Physalaemus santafecinus and three species of ...
متن کاملBreeding biology of Physalaemus centralis Bokermann, 1962 (Anura: Leptodactylidae) in southeastern Brazil
Physalaemus centralis is widely distributed in areas of cerrado vegetation in South America. Here we describe the temporal variation in activity and explore eventual effects of climatic conditions on activity, calling sites, territorial behaviour; courtship behaviour, egg clutches and tadpole development of P. centralis in southeastern Brazil. Field observations were made from January 1996 to F...

In this paper, we describe two syntopic species of Adenomera from the Chapada dos Veadeiros microregion, northern State of Goiás, central Brazil, recognized based on morphology, color patterns, and bioacoustics. Specimens and calls were obtained in the Municipality of Teresina de Goiás, central Brazil. Adenomera cotuba sp. nov. is diagnosed from the other 16 congeneric species by its 1) small s...
متن کاملPhylogeny of the túngara frog genus Engystomops (= Physalaemus pustulosus species group; Anura: Leptodactylidae).
We present a phylogeny of the Neotropical genus Engystomops (= Physalaemus pustulosus species group) based on sequences of approximately 2.4 kb of mtDNA, (12S rRNA, valine-tRNA, and 16S rRNA) and propose a phylogenetic nomenclature. The phylogeny includes all described taxa and two unnamed species. All analyses indicate that Engystomops is monophyletic and contains two basal allopatric clades. ...
